Sooo, I know I never post, but DAMN. The SOMA power-outage made me realize how much I'm addicted to LJ.......and Craigslist. Alex, you must be dying today!

Sooo apparently yesterday good'ol Dubbya sign another BS law again. I'll quote a little tidbit and link to the rest of the article/law.

(i) to have committed, or to pose a significant risk of committing, an act or acts of violence that have the purpose or effect of:

(A) threatening the peace or stability of Iraq or the Government of Iraq; or

(B) undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people;

 

Sooo if they suspect you of commiting any violence (in the US or Iraq) that they feel will undermine things over in Iraq, they can seize your stuff......all of it.

BRING BACK WALL CLOCKS! I'm sick and tired of nobody having a wall clock anymore. Just because everybody and their dog has a cell phone now, wall clocks have come close to extinction. I don't want to rumble around in my pocket and flip open my cell phone.......there's something nice about just looking up and seeing the time.

That is all....

So I just got promoted today, so now I'm no longer a telemarketer. (Yay!) Now people call me with their problems......shouldn't be too bad, right? :-)

Also interviewing for a second job tomorrow on my lunch break. The place is about two doors down from my current employer (same building), so that's pretty sweet. I'm just crossing fingers that they don't drug test low-level employees. (They had two job positions posted on Craigslist and only one of them said drug test required, so I applied for the other one......) *smile*

Besides that, had my bday on Thurs. Was pretty tight, last Thursday of the year before everybody moved away for the summer. Wouldn't have minded spending less than $250 this weekend, but what the hay! Also, no presents, just money (which is awesome in my book). I wish I had more to show from it, but all I got was a stained shirt and some urine out of the deal (from the booze, duh). Should be moving into my new place this weekend, think animal house......but on a dorm floor. Sounds exciting huh??? Rent's cheap, get over it.

Well, I'm off to have a $3 after-hours burger!  Ian is smiling.

Normally I don't post videos w/o a cut, but this belongs on everybody's friends page......... to those of you who have seen it before, I'm sure you'll watch it again. :-)

Was in a creative mood the other night and came up with an excellent drink to enjoy on these nice and warm summer days. I call it a Spring Splash.

Spring Splash

• Soak any non-flavored vodka in freshly cut strawberries and a cup of sugar overnight.
  
• In a Boston Shaker, add ice and 1pt Bacardi O, and 1pt of the Strawberry-Soaked Vodka. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  
• Add 1.5 oz of the mixed liqueur to a chilled martini glass (rimmed with sugar if you want to be fancy).
  
• Add 2.5 oz of Minute Maid Lemonade.
• Top with a splash of "Splash" (AKA V8 Splash, pick your flavor: I like the Mango one) and two drops of fresh (if you can) lime juice.
  
• Garnish with a strawberry and serve.

It sounds like a hard drink to make, but it's very easy and EXTREMELY tasty! I whipped this drink up for a little pre-funk before we headed out, I had 4 of them and was feeling pretty decent. Enjoy........and drink responsibly. hehe

Hey kids,

I’ve got a new ‘feature’ here at wifigod.net, a Tumblelog. “What is a Tumblelog?” you might ask. Well, it’s really like a variation of a blog, but shorter. It’s just random mixed-media updates that I would like to share with you guys and not go through the hassle of posting a big blog post. It’s easier for me, and hopfeully more entertaining for you. It’s setup to host my latest Flickr uploads, along with my most recently Dugg news and videos. I will also be sharing streamed music that I enjoy and hope you will listen and like what you hear. Every once in a while I might post a quote or a convo I had on AIM/MSN.

You will not be able to make comments on any of my posts on my Tumblelog, so if you want to give me any feedback or discuss a post, either email me or post a comment on one of my journal entries! Anywho, that’s all for now, I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted. Don’t worry, lot’s more to come in the very near future!

Man, Jena Malone is a little nuts it seems. If you don't know who I'm talking about, she was Donnie's g/f in Donnie Darko. She was also in a list of other semi-cult hits as well. Now she's apparently trying out her music career. She produces all her material, so it's very raw and 'unfinished' looking. Anyway, this one caught my eye, thought I'd share. Wack Job!

As this site is barely over a week old, I decided to get a preliminary “taste” of what the search engines think about my site’s rank with the keyword: wifigod. The 4 search engines I decided to use were: Google, Yahoo!, MSN Live, and Altavista.

So, I posted earlier about how I had upgraded my Myspace profile. What I didn’t notice, was that my profile was semi-broke in Firefox. After TONS of research, I figured out the problem. Apparently there’s a bug in Firefox that doesn’t like it when a DIV with overflow:auto is activated along with a Flash object that has the param wmode=transparent. Why it has this bug, I don’t know, but I did check Bugzilla and it seems to be documented by a few different users, although nobody’s currently working on the problem. *Sigh* So much for Open Source fixing bugs quickly (this has been documented as a bug since 1.0.5 and possibly earlier).

With that bug fixed, I went ahead and replaced one of my Flash widgets that showed different sites I was on. Seems how Myspace disabled links from Flash objects, it was kind of worthless. I went ahead and replaced the widget with a static HTML version and customized it a little bit. Works like a charm!

What an entertaining individual. I was listening to an old Loveline tonight and they had Gary Busey on the show. He was amazing, so genius-ly funny! During the course of the show, he shared what he calls “Buseyisms”. Basically they’re backronyms of various everyday words with inspirational meaning. I’ll give you kids some examples and feel free to make up your own.
